I havent told you about my first three lessons did I?
Well, at the end of Autumn, my then neighbor (Emma’s family…they’ve moved out since) recommended that I join Emma at Doggy School. You see, I wasnt very friendly with Emma and all the humans thought sending me to school to be educated would transform me into some sort of sissy-cutsie. Hmmm………
I performed extremely well at the first lesson. Applause, applause, applause the whole way through. It was the usual come here, stay, sit routine which I dont mind at all. Besides, Mama was speaking to me as she always does and that was perfectly fine.
Come the second lesson, the Dog Trainer had told Mama she should not talk to me…nor to any dog.
What?????? Is he nuts???!!!
Sadly both my Humans believed him and started commanding me in the most domineering tones of voices. I HATE THAT!!! I refused to respond. Guess what? The Dog Trainer made me, and to my embarassment, all the other 10 dogs there as well, stand for the next two hours while he commanded me brutally to ‘Sit’. The wind was blowing mercilessly at all of us but he refused to stop. Finally my legs gave way to the cold and fatigue and I sat down half-way. He claim triumph and my silly Humans were so impressed with him.
He came to my house for the third lesson so that Emma and I could be together in my house and I had to show welcome for her, instead of barking at her. Would you believe…Mr Dog Trainer brought along a chain and each time I barked he threw the chain at me. I was shocked! Nobody ever threw chains at me. I abruptly stopped barking and again he claim victory over me. Sigh…
Well Mama wasnt too please with what she observed although Papa thought the Mr Dog Trainer was brilliant. Thanks to the bitterly cold winter though I have not had any lessons since that fateful day in November.
Now that Spring is here and the weather seems better, Papa says we have to go back to Doggy School again since he has paid for 10 lessons altogether in advance.
Ohhhhhhh………have mercy on me……….pleeeaasssseee!!!
I’m actually shivering right now and hiding under the desk just thinking about the horros awaiting me.
Anyone out there who will rescue me?
